King Hintsa TVET College Holds Two-Day Strategic Planning Session in East London

Council members, senior management, and administrative personnel of King Hintsa TVET College have gathered at Chintsa in East London for a two-day Strategic Planning Session. Led by the Council Chairperson, Professor Zwelinzima Ndevu, the College seeks to find new and innovative ways that will further enhance the delivery of quality education to the thousands of students at the institution.

During his opening remarks at the session, Professor Ndevu challenged all King Hintsa TVET College employees to go the extra mile for the betterment of the institution. “We are meeting in the middle of a TVET month, the period the Department of Higher Education and Training has set aside to spotlight our sector, nationally, its lecturers, its graduates and the role it plays in the economy. It is a fitting backdrop for what we are doing here, because it is a reminder that this college does not plan in isolation. We plan inside a sector that is itself being reshaped” added Professor Ndevu.

At the strategic planning session, senior managers of the institution deliberated on a constructive way forward that will see the College continuing to play its intended positive role in society, ensuring that the life of a learner is changed for the better – one step at a time.

The implementation of some of the new strategies agreed upon and endorsed during the session will be monitored throughout the year, until the next Strategic Planning Session, set to take place the following year. This will see reports and updates on the progress being made become a continuous practice by all personnel at King Hintsa TVET College.

All attendees have committed to ensuring that all the discussions taking place in East London will be utilised as a guide by the foot soldiers on the ground, who will be instrumental in the implementation of the resolutions.
